A new edition of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ is soon to be re-released with ‘The Rings of Power’ cover art.

Harper Collins are publishing a Rings of Power series tie-in edition of LotR. The new covers for Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King will show images from the promotional poster series released in February.

“the images don’t really accord with the thematic thrust of each individual title and it’s a bit of a stretch to make an association between image and content.” TORn 21/4/22

There has been a largely negative response online about this latest marketing tactic with many people posting the words from The Two Towers:

“Books covers from TV series that aren't even based on those books.”

“Boromir says, ‘LOTR has no new covers. LOTR needs no new covers.’”

“The Return of the Witch-King, I guess.”

“Always hate movie edition covers, hate the fake stickers printed on the page. But if it gets one more person (kid, adult) to read Tolkien… I’ll take it.”

Many, many people have also Tweeted in response to the Harper Collins ad for these tie-in books with a hearty “Nah, I’m good!” Along with pictures of their favourite copies of The Lord of the Rings they already own.

  TRoP - Harfoots Migration Route In episode 5 Nori tells us about the Harfoot migration route: “We winter in Old Forest, and mid-summer, we make for Norfield Glen to snail while the snailing is good. And at the first blush of oak leaves, we head to the Grove. A whole orchard, popping with bar apples, plums, apricots, carrots...” Old Forest – This can’t be the Old Forest in LotR where the Hobbits met Tom Bombadil. That is located northeast in Eriador. Nori may be referring to Greenwood the Great, later known as Mirkwood in the Third Age. Old Forest may have been were the Harfoots were eating snails in episode 3. Norfield Glen – Not shown on TRoP maps. Norfield Glen is probably somewhere in the northern part of the hilly region to the south of Greenwood. Weedbrook - a branch of the Anduin River.   The Rings of Power – ‘LeakyRumours’ Fellowship of Fans Meteor man was at Bronwyn’s village, Tirharad during one of the raids. A heavily emotional scene was said to have taken place. ·          This seems like a coming together of the meteor man/Harfoot story and the Bronwyn/Tirharad story arc ·          Does this mean Harfoots will be shown in the lands south of Gondor, Harad referenced in the name of the village ·          Is Tirharad the village we see Arondir, Bronwyn, Theo and Galadriel visiting? Is this the settlement later destroyed in a cataclysmic event?
