Rings of Power promo video
“You know the feeling of finally finding your own people. So do we. To all the fans who go deep, keep going. See where it takes you.”
Music seems to take a lot of inspiration from the Rohan and Gondor themes from the Jackson movies. Very Howard Shore-eske. The music is quite uplifting!
Seeing at Ent in the promo, does that imply Ents with be seen in RoP? In the Second Age the immense forests of Middle-earth were cut by the Númenóreans. The Ents were there to protect the forest from Orcs, Dwarves and other perils. So they may be depicted in the TV show.
The child in the video is dressed very much like the Amazon original character Arondir.
The video appeals to all of us who didn’t fit into the sport/music activities of school, but found escape and entertainment in reading Tolkien’s works.
“To all the fans who go deep, keep going. See where it takes you.” – an appeal to the skeptical lore fans to trust the showrunners and accept the Amazon additions needed to fill out the Second Age storyline.
The sheet of the boy as he reads in bed has a print of John Howes drawing of the Glaurung at The Battle of Unnumbered Tears. RoP is rated TV-14. Does the boy look over 14 years old? Reinforces what the showrunners have said previously that RoP isn’t a adults only Game of Thrones style show.
The promo shows RoP being shown at a cinema. Could the prologue episodes be screened cinematically? RoP only have TV rights.
It is good that the promo video supports the link between reading Tolkien’s books and RoP. Ultimately, we all hope more people will read the Professor’s works after seeing the TV show.
