Elendil – what I hope is referenced in ‘Rings of Power’

“We have heard that the name of Elendil stands to this day at the head of the line of the Kings of Gondor, since he was accounted the high king of all the lands of the Dúnedain.”

·         Father of Isildur and Anárion(in the books) and Eärien (in Rings of Power only)

·         Tallest of the Men, thought to be at least seven feet tall

·         Direct descendant of Elros, first King of Númenor, his heir and great-grandson by 39 generations of unbroken succession is Aragorn, King Elessar

·         Lord of Andúnië, Leader of the Faithful in Númenor, remaining loyal to the will of the Valar

·         Survivor of the Downfall of Númenor, and the founder and first High King of Arnor and Gondor

·         Sailed with the Faithful, palantíri, the Sceptre of Annúminas, the Ring of Barahir, Narsil and a seedling of Nimloth, the White Tree of Númenor to Middle-earth

·         With the rise of Sauron he formed an alliance with Gil-galad, the High King of the Noldor

·         Fought in the War of the Last Alliance of Elves and Men

·         Gil-galad and Elendil fought Sauron and cast him down, but were both slain

·         His son Isildur used the broken hilt of Narsil to cut the One Ring from Sauron's hand

·         Initially buried on the summit of the beacon hill that was named Amon Anwar, eventually Elendil's remains were moved to the Hallows of Minas Tirith
