Galadriel & Finrod – The Rings of Power

Finrod was an Elven king of the Noldor, eldest son of Finarfin and brother to Galadriel. He devoted his whole life to his people, and was a very compassionate and successful king.
Beren, seeking the Silmaril, enlisted Finrod's aid, but the two of them and their group were captured while passing the isle of Tol-in-Gaurhoth. Sauron defeated Finrod in a contest of spells and songs, and their companions were slain one-by-one by werewolves. Finrod saved Beren's life by killing the werewolf that came for him, but in doing so, he died himself.
"...They (Beren and Lúthien) buried the body of Felagund (Finrod) upon the hill-top of his own isle, and it was clean again; and the green grave of Finrod Finarfin's son, fairest of all the princes of the Elves, remained inviolate, until the land was changed and broken, and foundered under destroying seas. But Finrod walks with Finarfin his father beneath the trees in Eldamar." - The Silmarillion
Because of Finrod's noble actions in life, and his reluctance to journey to Middle-earth, he was reincarnated after only a short time.
In the Rings of Power trailer, Galadriel is shown mourning over her dead brother. He has what looks like claw marks on his skin, along with the Mordor shaped injury similar to that shown in later parts of the video. Finrod is mentioned in LotR and the Appendices. Galadriel’s other brothers, Angrod, and Aegnor are not. The RoP producers can only access Second Age information from LotR and The Hobbit. There is no lore reference to Galadriel mourning Finrod before he is buried by Beren and Lúthien.
